Stitch! Japan

A place to watch the new Stitch! anime series

Stitch!

Stitch! (スティッチ! Sutitchi!?) is the title of a new anime project from Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is an adapted version of the US animated feature film Lilo & Stitch and the subsequent spin-off series, and started in Japan in October 2008.[

Development

The show features a Japanese girl named Yuna in place of Lilo, and will be set on a fictional island off the shore of Okinawa instead of Hawaii. It is animated and co-produced by the Japanese animation house Madhouse LTD. [1][2][3]

At the 2008 Tokyo International Anime Fair, the pilot for the series was showcased for attendees at the Madhouse booth. Information was also shown around Disney's booth, showing the cast of characters who will appear in the anime. From the information available, many of the past characters, such as Jumba Jookiba and Pleakley, will be appearing, as will three villains; Dr. Jacques von Hamsterviel, Experiment 627, and Leroy. In addition, the three experiments that came before him,SparkyReuben ,and Angel, are in the anime.

Stitch! started on TV Tokyo and following affiliates at 7:00pm on October 8, 2008 and will have an hour premiere of the first two episodes. Every Wednesday after, it will regulate itself itself to the 7:26PM timeslot, replacing Bleach. It is also scheduled to air on the Disney Channel, but no given time or date has been announced. It was revealed in a 2009 preview that the show will air in the US on Disney Channel later in the year. It is currently unknown whether the show will be broadcast subtitled or dubbed into English language, or whether any of the voice cast from the original Lilo & Stitch series will reprise their roles.
